How do NiTime aligners work?
Like most other aligners of this kind, NiTime works by gradually moving the position of your teeth until they become straighter. Generally, our patients brush their teeth after dinner before popping their aligners in overnight, averaging 6-12 hours a day of wear.
- You’ll wear each set of aligners for 1 week, making sure to have them in for at least 9 hours while you sleep.
- Each aligner will move your teeth a little bit further until you reach your desired, straighter smile.
- You’ll visit us every 4-6 weeks so we can make sure your treatment is progressing properly.
Because of their unique composition, NiTime aligners can move teeth twice as quickly as other aligners. This means patients can wear them while they sleep and still get results in 9-18 months.

Treatment plan
We’ll put together a comprehensive treatment plan and go over it with you to make sure we’re hitting all your smile goals.
Treatment
You’ll be fitted for your NiTime aligners, then it will be time to pop them in that night at home. You’ll wear each set of aligners for one week before moving on to the next ones. The total treatment time can be anything from 6-18 months (though you should start to see results a few weeks into your treatment). We’ll stay in touch with you throughout and you’ll see your dentist every 4-6 weeks.
